During the COVID-19 pandemic, Gurkha Nepalese Welfare Society UK has worked hard and swiftly to ensure that all our members remain safe. This is an unprecedented time, and we are doing our utmost to ensure that our members understand the guidance and procedures that put in place by the Government and NHS. Recently we received a fund from the HM Government and in partnership with THE NATIONAL LOTTERY COMMUNITY FUND to support the most vulnerable portion of the community like the Senior Citizen, long term sickness members, self-isolated members and the families who face financial hardship because of this ongoing pandemic. We would like to give a big thanks to HM Government and in partnership with THE NATIONAL LOTTERY COMMUNITY FUND for the financial assistance.
This COVID-19 support team is providing key services to community members in different ways, especially to the most vulnerable portion of the community like the Senior Citizen members, long term sickness members, self-isolated members and in a difficult situation in the current crisis. To protect the most vulnerable people, we provided essential safety items such as face mask, sanitiser, hand wash liquid and essential food items. To ensure our community members have all the necessary information regarding COVID-19 to protect themselves and also, we provided English to Nepali translated clinical awareness guide as well.
