In an effort to enhance the wellbeing of its senior citizen members, the Society applied for funding through the National Lottery Community Fund. Consequently, financial assistance was approved under the National Lottery Community Fund, enabling the organisation to facilitate the first initiative focuses on daily English proficiency to enhance community integration. The goal is to improve the conversational English skills; fostering stronger connections within the community. The project aims to mitigate loneliness and enhance societal integration through IT awareness workshops. The objective is to equip participants with essential IT skills; enabling them to navigate online banking; social media; and engage in effective email communication.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li>Inauguration of the National Lottery Community Fund Programme:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Date: 13 April 2024 (Saturday)<br>Occasion: Nepali New Year 2081\/2025 Celebration Programme:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the occasion of Nepali New Year 2081, the Society officially inaugurated the National Lottery Community Fund programme. The inauguration ceremony was conducted in the presence of the following dignitaries, invited to the stage by the General Secretary, Mrs. Bimla Kumari Rai:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr. Ganja Bahadur Ale \u2013 Chairperson<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mrs. Bishnu Kumari Gurung \u2013 Senior Vice Chairperson<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr. Rajendra Limbu \u2013 Vice Chairperson<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr. Ganesh Ale \u2013 Treasurer<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Retd. The programme was scheduled to run every Wednesday, incorporating a range of intellectual, educational and recreational courses designed for senior citizen members. These courses were introduced gradually, based on relevance and demand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The programme operated for approximately 49 consecutive weeks, concluding successfully on 09 September 2025. Lieutenant Mr. Tham Prasad Gurung. Lckleford, SG5 3UA. One coach was hired for the visit and the coach hire fund covered by Gurkha Nepalese Welfare Society UK. The visit was facilitated by Trustee Member\/ Senior Vice Chairperson Mrs. Bishnu Kumari Gurung and General Secretary Mrs Bimla Kumari Rai. Captain Mr. Rukum Bahadur Rana as the chief guest. During the ceremony:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Senior citizen members who completed the courses were honoured with a Certificate of Participation and a traditional khada, presented by the Chairperson and Instructor Mrs. Amrita Thapa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Instructor Mrs. Amrita Thapa and Senior Vice Chairperson Mrs. Bishnu Kumari Gurung were also felicitated with certificates and khada for their contributions to the programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ceremony highlighted the successful completion of the programme and recognised the dedication of all involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>      5.
